HVDC Project Engineers

We are now looking for a Project Engineer to join our client’s HVDC Warranty & Base Services team in Ludvika. This unit supports existing HVDC installations worldwide, ensuring reliable performance and continuous improvement of the systems that power the global energy transition.

About the role
The HVDC Warranty & Base Services department works directly with customers of already commissioned sites to provide support and problem-solving for all issues related to HVDC Control & Protection systems and Operational Technology (IT Infrastructure).
You’ll be part of an international and skilled team that collaborates closely to support customers with troubleshooting, upgrades, and improvements to existing systems.
Many assignments consist of a customer site visit to implement and verify the solutions we
design, which means there is ample opportunity to travel globally.
Key responsibilities
• Develop and implement design solutions for the installed base of HVDC Control & Protection systems and Operational Technology (OT)
Perform verification of our solutions – executed in test labs and on site
Interfacing with existing customers to fault-trace issues and prepare technical
solutionsCollaborating with a broader team of like-minded co-workers and experts to give the
best results to our customers
For this role, we are looking for an eager engineer and problem solver who realizes collaboration is key for success. You will be part of a team where we work together to support our customers for
problem solving and fault tracing, as well as delivering partial upgrades and new functionality to existing equipment. The work consists of collaboration in small teams with members from all over the world.
Your background
• You hold a university degree applicable to the work within HVDC Control
systems (e.g. Electrical Engineering, IT systems, Operational Technology, Computer
Science), or have work experience from similar roles
• You have several years of experience in electrical transmission systems, control systems, power systems, or industrial automation, ideally within HVDC or similar fields
• Equally important is your inner drive, and ability to get things done. For us, that
means that you are a driven problem solver who eagerly takes on new tasks and
enjoys the challenges of engineering
• Interest in global travel and experiencing different cultures
• Excellent communication skills in English; Swedish is a plus
