Our client is a global technology company driving industrial and digital transformation. The organization develops advanced technologies and infrastructure solutions used worldwide to improve efficiency, performance, and sustainability across multiple industries.
You will join an experienced infrastructure team responsible for supporting critical IT environments and services used by research and development teams globally. The team values collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning, and is now looking to strengthen its High Performance Computing (HPC) capabilities with additional team members.
About the role
As a High Performance Computing System Administrator, you will play an important role in supporting and maintaining the organization’s HPC platform and related infrastructure services. The environment is used by R&D and research teams across several countries for advanced simulations and computational workloads.
You will work in a Linux-based environment with responsibilities ranging from daily operations and troubleshooting to maintenance, optimization, and support of HPC applications and software licensing systems. The role combines infrastructure operations, user support, documentation, and continuous improvements.
The team is open to both junior and senior candidates, and the scope of responsibilities will be adapted based on your experience and background. Responsibilities
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot HPC systems and infrastructure services
Support users with technical issues related to HPC environments and applications
Install, configure, test, and maintain HPC applications and software tools
Perform system updates, maintenance activities, and operational improvements
Support and optimize software license management across the HPC platform
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and team members to solve technical challenges
Document systems, procedures, and operational routines
Contribute to improving collaboration, knowledge sharing, and long-term stability within the team
Qualifications
Experience working in Linux environments and confidence working with the command line interface (CLI)
General understanding of server infrastructure, networking, and IT operations
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues in a structured and analytical way
Good documentation skills and ability to work methodically
Strong communication skills in English, knowledge of Swedish is considered an advantage
Post-secondary education within IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is considered an advantage, but equivalent practical experience is equally valued.
Experience from system administration, infrastructure operations, or HPC environments is highly meritorious.

Additional information
Location: Västerås
Start date: ASAP or according to agreement
Working hours: Primarily daytime office hours, although occasional work outside regular hours may occur during maintenance activities
Employment type: Permanent employment, starting with a 12-month consulting assignment with the ambition of direct employment by the client thereafter
