We are now looking for a Valve Cooling Project Engineer to join our customer in Ludvika. This is a role with exciting technical challenges, global collaboration, and great opportunities for learning and professional development.
About the role
You will join the HVDC Products team, responsible for designing, manufacturing, and testing converter valves used in high-voltage direct current (HVDC) and static var compensator (SVC) systems. These technologies are key enablers for efficient long-distance power transmission and the integration of renewable energy sources into the grid.
As a Valve Cooling Project Engineer, you will work with closed-loop pressurized cooling systems equipped with air-cooled heat exchangers, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of high-power converter valves. The systems include pumps, filters, control units, sensors, and heat exchangers designed to meet strict reliability and low-maintenance standards.
Your responsibilities
You will support HVDC projects by defining technical requirements for cooling systems, reviewing supplier documentation, and handling technical discussions with stakeholders. You’ll also participate in testing and commissioning activities, occasionally traveling to supplier sites. As part of a collaborative team, you'll contribute to project success while following established processes and upholding safety and quality standards.
Your background
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with technical documentation, specifications, and supplier collaboration is a plus
- A team player with a proactive mindset and a strong interest in engineering and energy systems
- Willing to travel occasionally
- Open to both experienced professionals and recent graduates
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written

- Location: Ludvika, Sweden. Possibility to work from Västerås or another location can be discussed
- Hybrid work (partly remote) is possible after agreement
- Contract type: You will begin as a consultant for 12 months with the possibility to transition to permanent employment the customer
