Senior Specialist – High Voltage & Pulsed Power
We are looking for an experienced specialist to support advanced development work within high-voltage and pulsed power technologies. The role involves engaging in research-oriented engineering tasks where rapid electrical phenomena, accuracy and reliable performance are central.
You will work in a small technical team contributing to long-term development activities within a specialised field.
About the role
As a Senior Specialist, you will work broadly within development and analysis of high-voltage and pulse-related systems. Depending on your background, this may include tasks such as:
- contributing to studies and evaluations of high-voltage or pulsed power concepts
- supporting theoretical assessments and exploratory engineering work
- participating in controlled testing or practical verification activities
- assisting in preparation of prototypes, experiments or investigative setups
- collaborating with colleagues on ongoing research and development initiatives
The role includes both analytical and practical elements and offers the opportunity to work on advanced topics with significant technical depth.
Your profile
You have experience working with high-voltage or pulsed power technologies and are comfortable with complex electrical challenges. You combine analytical ability with practical understanding and enjoy contributing to development work that may involve open-ended questions and long-term exploration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field
- Several years of relevant experience within high-voltage and pulsed power
- Practical experience from test or laboratory environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in English
Meriting qualifications
- PhD within a relevant field is highly meriting
- Experience from R&D or early-stage technology development
- Knowledge of materials, insulation principles or reliability aspects in electrical systems
- Experience with simulations, diagnostics or prototype-oriented engineering
- Ability to design or adapt experimental approaches when needed
Additional information
Form of employment: The role is initially a consultancy assignment through A-hub. It is designed as a full-time position, although part-time arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.
Location: The position is based in Örebro, Sweden. You may live elsewhere in the country, provided you can be on-site regularly. For a part-time consultant, your base location and the hybrid setup can be discussed further.
