About the role
Exeger is looking for a Machine Vision Engineer to join the Software and Mechatronics team within the Industrialization department.
This is a hands-on role with a clear core focus on machine vision in production machinery. Your daily work will revolve around developing, maintaining, and improving the vision systems that ensure quality, precision, and stable operation in Exeger’s production lines.
The role includes both new development and maintenance of existing systems. This may involve troubleshooting issues in running production, improving inspection stability, implementing new vision capabilities, or contributing to the development of new machines. In project-based work, you will be responsible for the machine vision perspective and collaborate closely with mechanical and electrical engineers.
What the role involves
Developing, maintaining, and improving machine vision systems for production machinery
Taking responsibility for vision solutions in machine development projects
Troubleshooting and resolving vision-related issues in live production environments
Implementing improvements and new functionality in existing inspection systems
Working with cameras, optics, lighting, calibration, and image acquisition settings to ensure robust and repeatable results
Participating in the commissioning, testing, and validation of machines
Collaborating closely with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers
Developing deep expertise in one or several of Exeger’s unique process areas
Who are you?
To be successful in this role, we believe that you have:
Engineering degree in mechatronics, automation, computer engineering, software engineering, or equivalent
Hands-on experience working with industrial machine vision systems
Experience from production machinery or an industrial environment
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Professional fluency in spoken and written English
Meriting experience
Experience from volume manufacturing or industrialisation
Experience with higher-level programming languages such as C#, Python, or C++
Experience with common vision tools/platforms (e.g. HALCON, Cognex, Keyence, Basler/GenICam, OpenCV)
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC-UA, Modbus, or MQTT
Experience with PLC integration and production automation environments
IIoT concepts and data capture from machines
Mechanical design and 3D CAD understanding (interface and mounting of cameras/lighting)
Hands-on installation and commissioning
Risk assessments, safety reviews, and FMEA
Project or technical leadership experience
