Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Magle Group
We are looking for an experienced and business-oriented Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and develop all Group Operations across Magle Group’s sites in Sweden and Denmark. This is a key executive role, where you will report directly to the CEO and work in close partnership with executive leadership to ensure that the Group’s day-to-day operations run efficiently, compliantly, and in line with strategic objectives.
The COO holds full responsibility for Operations end-to-end, covering Production, Operational planning, Quality Control, Supply Chain, Maintenance & Facilities and Operational Excellence. In this role you will have a leadership team that you work close together with and that will be responsible for the daily operation, together you set the strategic goals and you will closely monitor performance to secure timely delivery within our quality standards.

Our operations are based in Sweden and Denmark, with 3 major production sites with capabilities for development, upscaling and manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients, dextran derivatives and final products for the medical device and pharmaceutical markets.
With technologies including chemical small to large scale manufacturing, fermentation and fill & finish, we are a partner in delivering innovative treatments that address critical medical needs.
As COO you are expected to translate Magle Goup’s overall strategy into operational capabilities to support commercial growth, customer commitments, and long-term value creation.
Main responsibilities
• Overall responsibility for Group Operations across Sweden and Denmark, covering Production, QC, Supply Chain, EHS, Maintenance & Facilities, and Operational Excellence.
• Act as a key operational partner to the CEO, providing decision support, insights, and driving effective execution across the organisation.
• Define, implement and own end-to-end operational KPIs, covering the full supply chain process flow and on-time delivery to customers.
• Harmonize manufacturing practices across Malmö, Hårlev, Køge and other production sites, driving operational standardization.
• Lead and oversee GMP and non-GMP operations, ensuring full compliance with cGMP, ISO standards, , internal QMS requirements, EHS regulations and financial reporting according to IAS 2.
• Drive Operational Excellence by reviewing, harmonising and continuously improving processes across all operational functions.
• Define and execute a Group-wide operational roadmap, balancing long-term strategy with short-term tactical execution.
• Combine strategic leadership with hands-on involvement, supporting managers operationally and technically when needed.
• Ensure effective capacity planning, master production scheduling and resource optimisation across sites and product portfolios.
• Maintain oversight of production equipment, validation status, maintenance planning, and facility development.
• Collaborate closely with Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, Procurement, Finance and Commercial teams to support customer projects and business growth.
• Actively participate in key customer projects, including operational presentations and technical discussions.
• Drive cost control, productivity improvements and margin optimization across Operations.
• Lead, coach and develop leaders and teams within Operations, fostering a performance-driven and pragmatic culture.
Previous experience and competencies
• Senior leadership experience in Operations within GMP-regulated life science, pharma or medical device environments • Proven track record of leading broad operational organisations with multiple functions and site responsibility
• Strong understanding of end-to-end operational flows, from suppliers and raw materials to customer delivery
• Experience in leading managers and supporting them both strategically and hands-on
• Solid technical understanding, with the ability to engage in operational and production-related problem solving
• Focus on building and maintaining strong relationships both externally with customers and other stakeholders and internally within the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to define, implement and follow up operational KPIs and performance dashboards
• Comfortable balancing high-level strategy with hands-on execution in a dynamic, regulated environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across geographies and functions

Start: Per agreement
Location: Malmö, Sweden /Köge Denmark – divided depending on business needs.
